Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal information TubeCortex collects, why we collect it, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and the choices and rights you have. We've written it in plain language on purpose.
Last updated: July 4, 2026
The short version
If you don’t want to read the whole thing, here’s the gist:
- We collect the information we need to run your account and generate your summaries — nothing more.
- We do not sell your personal data, ever.
- We share data only with the trusted providers that help us run the service (sign-in, payments, AI processing, notifications, hosting).
- You can access, correct, or delete your data at any time by emailing us.
The sections below give the full detail. Using TubeCortex is also subject to our Terms of Service.
Who we are
TubeCortex (“TubeCortex”, “we”, “us”, “our”) is an AI service that helps you summarize, organize, and ask questions about YouTube videos and channels. This policy applies to https://tubecortex.com and the TubeCortex app, which are operated by STINGFU PRIVATE LIMITED. We act as the “controller” of your personal data — meaning we decide how and why it is processed.
For any privacy question or request, email us at support@tubecortex.com.
Information we collect
We collect information in a few different ways:
Information you give us
- Account information. When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture. We never see or store your Google password.
- Content you create. The videos and channels you choose to summarize, the “brains” and libraries you build, your chat questions and the answers, and your settings and preferences.
- Communications. If you connect Telegram for notifications, we store your Telegram chat ID. If you email us, we keep that correspondence so we can help you.
Information from your YouTube account (optional)
If you choose to import the channels you follow, you grant permission to read your YouTube subscriptions. We use this only to show and add those channels inside TubeCortex. You can use the service without this — you can always add channels manually — and you can disconnect the permission from your Google Account settings at any time.
This feature uses YouTube API Services. By using it, you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service, and Google’s handling of any data it receives is governed by the Google Privacy Policy. We access this data on a read-only basis and use it solelyto import your subscriptions — we do not use YouTube data anywhere else in TubeCortex, and we never modify, post to, or delete anything in your YouTube account. You can revoke TubeCortex’s access at any time from your Google Account security settings.
Information we process to provide the service
To generate a summary or answer, the content of the videos you choose and the questions you ask are processed, including by the third-party AI providers listed below. We process publicly available video content for this purpose at your request.
Payment information
If you make a payment, it is handled by our third-party payment processor. We receive confirmation of the payment and a transaction reference, but we do not collect or store your full card or bank details — the processor handles those directly under its own security standards.
Information we collect automatically
Like most online services, we automatically collect some technical data when you use TubeCortex: your IP address, browser and device type, and basic activity logs (such as how many summaries or credits you have used). We use a small number of essential cookies to keep you signed in. See “Cookies” below.
How we use your information
- To provide the service — generate summaries, answer questions, and run your account.
- To process your payments, credits, and any plans.
- To send notifications you have asked for (for example, new-upload alerts).
- To keep the service secure, prevent abuse and fraud, and fix problems.
- To understand how the service is used so we can improve it and build new features.
- To communicate with you about your account or support requests.
- To meet our legal, tax, and accounting obligations.
Our legal bases for using your data
We only process your personal data when we have a valid reason to. Depending on the situation, that reason is one of the following:
- To provide the service you asked for (performing our contract with you).
- Your consent — for example, connecting Telegram or your YouTube account.
- Our legitimate interests — running, securing, and improving the service, as long as those interests don’t override your rights.
- Legal obligations — for example, keeping payment records for tax.
Cookies and similar technologies
We use a small number of essential cookies to keep you signed in and to keep the service secure. We do notuse cookies for advertising, and we do not track you across other websites. Because these cookies are strictly necessary to run the service, they don’t require a consent banner, but you can clear or block cookies in your browser settings (some features won’t work if you do).
Who we share your information with
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with the service providers we rely on to run TubeCortex, and only as far as needed for them to do their job:
- Google — for sign-in (and YouTube account access, if you connect it).
- Our payment processor — to take payments securely.
- AI model providers (such as OpenRouter and the model providers it routes to) — to generate your summaries and answers from the content and questions you submit.
- Telegram — only if you connect it, to deliver notifications.
- Our hosting and infrastructure providers — to store data and run the app.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect our rights, our users, or the safety of others. If our business is ever transferred to another owner, your information may be transferred too, under the protections of this policy.
International data transfers
Our providers operate globally, so your data may be processed in countries other than your own. Where that happens, we rely on these providers’ safeguards and appropriate legal protections so that your data stays protected in line with applicable data-protection laws.
How long we keep your information
We keep your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account or ask us to remove your data, we delete or anonymize it within a reasonable period — except where we must keep certain records longer (for example, payment records we need for tax and accounting).
How we protect your information
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data — for example, encryption in transit, and encryption of sensitive secrets such as any API keys you choose to add. We limit who can access your data internally. No online service can be 100% secure, but we work to keep your data safe and to address any issues quickly.
Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of these rights:
- Access — get a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct — fix data that is wrong or out of date.
- Delete — ask us to erase your data.
- Restrict or object — limit or object to certain uses of your data.
- Portability — receive your data in a portable format.
- Withdraw consent — where we relied on your consent.
- Complain — to your local data-protection authority.
To exercise any of these, email support@tubecortex.comand we’ll respond within a reasonable time. We won’t charge you or treat you differently for exercising your rights.
Children’s privacy
TubeCortex is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will remove it.
Third-party links and services
The service links to YouTube and may link to other third-party sites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites — this policy covers only TubeCortex. Please review the privacy policies of any third-party services you use.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we’ll change the “Last updated” date at the top, and for significant changes we’ll make a reasonable effort to let you know.
How to contact us
For any question, request, or concern about your privacy, email us at support@tubecortex.com. If you’re not satisfied with our response, you have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority.
